A team of five students from New York University Abu Dhabi won the ADNOC-Bloomberg Economic Research Challenge at ADIPEC 2021, organized as part of the ADNOC-Bloomberg Education Initiative.
The team members are Anne-Maria Salmela, Joanna Daniela Jagodzinska, Oxana Dmitriyenko, Aya Abu Ali and Vanessa Abou Kors.
The challenge is the first academic economic research competition to take place in the United Arab Emirates using the Bloomberg Terminal®. Students from NYU-AD, Abu Dhabi University and the United Arab Emirates impersonated global economists in a competition to compile research papers using the latest economic indicators and research tools on the Bloomberg terminal. The teams analyzed the oil price outlook and its impact on specific sectors and the economy in general. A panel of judges from Bloomberg and ADNOC selected the winning paper based on a number of criteria, including demonstrating strong analysis. The winning team will have the opportunity to spend time with Bloomberg and ADNOC executives at each company’s offices, gaining first-hand experience.
The ADNOC-Bloomberg education initiative, chaired by the Department of Education, is designed to equip the future workforce to navigate capital markets, securities and asset classes, from securities to fixed income to equities, currencies, commodities and derivatives.
