Josh Holmes, former chief of staff to Sen. Mitch McConnell, criticized the Biden administration’s approach to inflation, saying the strategy is “the exact opposite” of what is needed to fix the economy. Holmes told “America’s Newsroom” on Wednesday that the administration’s policies, which have pumped more money into the market, are making the problem worse.

JOSH HOLMES: We’re not talking about presiding over a bad economy, we’re talking about basic financial literacy at this point. Remember, we are at 8.5% inflation, and their response is to flood the market with more currency. They still want to pass [Build Back Better]. You have this problem with gas prices. Their first instinct was to try handing out gas cards. Again, injecting more currency into the economy.
Almost everything from student loans – think about it for a second, they want to forgive student loans. Meanwhile, you have an armada of ships lying around in the Pacific and Atlantic that cannot be unloaded because we don’t have the people to do so. Everything they’re doing to try to fix the economy is the exact opposite of what you should be doing.
